The fine print
Privacy Policy
Your data stays on your phone. Here is what that means, in plain words.
Last updated 2026-06
This covers the Mote app and this website (mote.applover.top). It matches how the app actually works. Find a gap? That is a bug. Tell me at hello@mote.applover.top.
1. Your Screen Time data stays on your device
The apps you guard, and your use of them, are handled on your device through Apple's Screen Time and Family Controls. I never see it, and it does not leave your phone.
2. No tracking, no selling
The app has no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs. I do not build ad profiles. I do not sell your data, to anyone, ever.
3. On-device intelligence
If your device supports Apple Intelligence, Mote may use Apple's on-device Foundation Models to phrase a line of encouragement. It runs on your device. If your device does not support it, Mote uses a curated phrase library instead, with no difference to you. No cloud AI. Your context never leaves your phone.
4. Purchases
Subscriptions are handled by Apple. I receive confirmation that an entitlement is active. I do not receive or store your payment details. Billing, refunds, and cancellation run through your App Store account.
5. Optional iCloud sync
If you enable it, your settings may sync through your own private iCloud account so they stay consistent across your devices. That uses Apple's infrastructure under your account. I cannot access it.
6. Crash and diagnostics
If you have opted in at the system level, Apple may share aggregate, non-identifying crash and performance data with me. It helps me fix bugs. You control this in your device settings.
7. This website
I practice what I preach. This site uses privacy-first analytics that count visits with no cookies, no cross-site tracking, and no profile of you. No tracking cookies means no consent banner to click through. No Google Analytics, no ad pixels, nothing that follows you off this site.
If you give me your email to hear when Mote reaches the App Store, I use it only to send that one update (and the build notes if you ask for them). It is never sold and never used to track you, and you can unsubscribe in one tap, any time.
8. Children
Mote is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. This website is likewise not directed at children.
9. Changes
If I make material changes, I update the date above and, where it matters, let you know. The core promise will not change: your Screen Time data stays on your phone.
10. Contact
Questions about your privacy? A real person reads hello@mote.applover.top.
This policy mirrors the Privacy Policy inside the Mote app on the on-device promise, so the two never contradict each other.
